BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after multiple indicators saying "school shooter" were found in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Safety announced. Man Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces a number of charges.

An increased quantity of police officers have been positioned at schools in the communities as a result of the signs. Multiple colleges initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly positioned the indicators around the communities, the Department of Safety mentioned, however they decided there isn't a credible risk presently.

One such sign was written on a paper plate. The security division released a photo of the plate but blurred a part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of felony threatening and three misdemeanor expenses including false report back to law enforcement, false public alarm and prison threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.

No different suspects have been charged right now.
