The Uvalde Police Department and the Uvalde Unbiased School District police force are not cooperating with the Texas Division of Public Security's investigation into the bloodbath at Robb Elementary School and the state's evaluation of the legislation enforcement response, a number of law enforcement sources inform ABC News.
The Uvalde police chief and a spokesperson for the Uvalde Independent College District did not instantly reply to requests for remark from ABC News.
Based on sources, the decision to cease cooperating occurred quickly after the director of DPS, Col. Steven McCraw, held a news convention Friday during which he said the delayed police entry into the classroom was "the unsuitable choice" and contrary to protocol.
