May 8 (Reuters) - An Alabama regulation that makes it a felony to supply gender-affirming medical treatment to transgender youth went into impact on Sunday whereas a federal decide weighs whether to grant a motion to put a temporary hold on it.

The laws makes it a crime punishable by as much as 10 years in prison to provide puberty blockers, hormones and medical procedures to transgender youth below 19.
