May 8 (Reuters) - An Alabama regulation that makes it a felony to supply gender-affirming medical treatment to transgender youth went into impact on Sunday whereas a federal judge weighs whether to grant a movement to put a temporary hold on it.

The laws makes it against the law punishable by as much as 10 years in jail to offer puberty blockers, hormones and medical procedures to transgender youth below 19.
