A girl visiting Yellowstone Nationwide Park was gored by a bison and tossed into the air, park officials stated Tuesday.
The 25-year-old lady, who was visiting from Ohio, was not identified in a information release from the park.
The girl approached the female bison Monday morning after it came close to a boardwalk at Black Sand Basin, close to Previous Faithful geyser, the park said.

Fuller / VWPics by way of AP Photographs filePark rules require guests to remain more than 25 yards from the animals, the largest mammals in North America, which are unpredictable, can top speeds of 35 mph and can soar several feet.
An estimated 2,300 to 5,500 bison live at the park, and they have injured extra people than another animal, the park stated.
When the visitor came within 10 ft of the animal, the bison impaled her and "tossed" her 10 feet within the air, the park stated.
The lady had puncture wounds and different accidents and was taken to a hospital in Idaho, the service said. Her situation was unknown Tuesday.
Two different individuals were also near the animal when it gored the woman, the park stated. The release didn’t say if they have been injured.
The park warned individuals to remain 25 yards from bison, elk, bighorn sheep and moose and at the very least 100 yards from bears and wolves.
CORRECTION (June 1, 2022, 12:07 p.m. ET) A earlier version of this article misstated the severity of the lady’s injuries. She was gored by a bison and suffered puncture wounds. She was not killed.
