Uvalde police, faculty district now not cooperating with Texas probe of shooting: Sources

The Uvalde Police Department and the Uvalde Unbiased School District police power are now not cooperating with the Texas Division of Public Safety's investigation into the bloodbath at Robb Elementary College and the state's evaluate of the legislation enforcement response, multiple regulation enforcement sources tell ABC News.

The Uvalde police chief and a spokesperson for the Uvalde Independent Faculty District did not immediately reply to requests for comment from ABC News.

Based on sources, the decision to cease cooperating occurred soon after the director of DPS, Col. Steven McCraw, held a information conference Friday during which he stated the delayed police entry into the classroom was "the wrong resolution" and opposite to protocol.

Reached by ABC Information, a spokesperson for the Texas Division of Public Safety mentioned, "The Uvalde Police Division and Uvalde CISD Police have been cooperating with investigators. The chief of the Uvalde CISD Police offered an initial interview but has not responded to a request for a follow-up interview with the Texas Rangers that was made two days in the past."

Last Tuesday's assault, one of the worst college shootings in U.S. historical past, left 19 children and two adults lifeless.
