Paul Pelosi, 82, was arrested at 11:44 p.m. PT and charged with driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, in keeping with the Napa County Legal Justice Network's public booking report. Each expenses are misdemeanors.
TMZ was the first to report the arrest.Pelosi was trying to cross SR-29 when his 2021 Porsche was hit by a 2014 Jeep touring northbound on the road, in response to a collision report from the California Freeway Patrol, which does not identify both driver as being at fault in the crash. Troopers had been called to the scene simply before 10:30 p.m., the report stated.
There have been no injuries reported in the crash and the Jeep's driver was not arrested, the report stated.
CNN has reached out to the freeway patrol and the Napa County Sheriff's Workplace for additional details.
Bail was set at $5,000 in keeping with the reserving report, and data point out Pelosi was released Sunday morning.
"The Speaker is not going to be commenting on this private matter which occurred whereas she was on the East Coast," a press release from Drew Hammill, Pelosi's spokesperson, said. CNN reached out for an updated statement after the collision report was released.
