Federal brokers entered Uvalde school to kill gunman despite native police initially asking them to wait

Federal brokers who went to Robb Elementary College in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday to confront a gunman who killed 19 children have been told by local police to wait and not enter the varsity — and then determined after about half an hour to ignore that initial guidance and find the shooter, say two senior federal regulation enforcement officials.

In accordance with the officials, agents from BORTAC, the Customs and Border Safety tactical unit, and ICE's Homeland Safety Investigations (HSI) arrived on the scene between midday and 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Native legislation enforcement asked them to wait, after which instructed HSI agents to help pull youngsters out of the windows.
