Russian spy plane violates Swedish air area

A Russian reconnaissance aircraft briefly violated Sweden’s airspace on Friday, Swedish protection officers stated on Saturday, as the Scandinavian nation ponders a bid for NATO membership after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“A Russian AN-30 propeller airplane violated Swedish airspace on Friday evening,” the Swedish protection ministry said in a press release, adding that its groups had adopted the incident and photographed it.
The ministry said the aircraft was flying east of Bornholm, a Danish island within the Baltic, earlier than it headed towards Swedish territory.
“It's totally unacceptable to violate Swedish airspace,” public television SVT quoted Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist as saying.
“This motion is unprofessional and given the overall security state of affairs very inappropriate. Swedish sovereignty must at all times be revered.”
