Teen arrested after mother noticed son had gun at Texas school drop-off

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD/Gray News) - Several agencies responded to a center college in Texas Friday morning after a young person’s mother noticed he was carrying a gun.
Police in Lubbock tell KCBD a mother was dropping off her 15-year-old son at O.L. Slaton Center College around 9 a.m. when she seen the firearm. The teen never made it inside the building, and he ran from the college.
The Lubbock Police Division responded to the area along with a number of different agencies in an try to seek out him.
The teenager was discovered near the school’s campus and taken into custody.
Authorities mentioned the 15-year-old could possibly be facing a felony weapons charge.
Police say there was no risk made to the school or anyone inside the varsity.
O.L. Slaton Center College was briefly positioned on lockout on account of the incident.
