Taliban chief orders girls to put on all-covering burqa in public: Decree

Afghanistan’s supreme chief and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the nation’s ladies to wear the all-covering burqa in public - one of the harshest controls imposed on women’s lives since the Taliban seized energy.

“They need to wear a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it is traditional and respectful,” said a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was released by Taliban authorities at a operate in Kabul.

“Those girls who usually are not too old or younger should cowl their face, besides the eyes, as per sharia directives, with a purpose to avoid provocation when assembly males who are usually not mahram (grownup shut male kinfolk),” the decree said.

It added that if women had no necessary work outside it was “higher they stay at house.”

Throughout their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed similar restrictions on girls.
