Taliban chief orders girls to wear all-covering burqa in public: Decree

Afghanistan’s supreme leader and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the nation’s girls to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of many harshest controls imposed on ladies’s lives for the reason that Taliban seized power.

“They should wear a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it is traditional and respectful,” said a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was launched by Taliban authorities at a perform in Kabul.

“These women who are not too outdated or young should cover their face, besides the eyes, as per sharia directives, with a view to avoid provocation when assembly men who will not be mahram (grownup shut male relatives),” the decree said.

It added that if women had no vital work outdoors it was “higher they stay at home.”

During their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed comparable restrictions on ladies.
