Taliban leader orders women to put on all-covering burqa in public: Decree

Afghanistan’s supreme chief and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the nation’s women to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of the harshest controls imposed on women’s lives since the Taliban seized energy.

“They should put on a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it's conventional and respectful,” mentioned a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was released by Taliban authorities at a operate in Kabul.

“These girls who are not too outdated or young must cowl their face, besides the eyes, as per sharia directives, in order to keep away from provocation when meeting men who will not be mahram (grownup close male family),” the decree said.
