Taliban chief orders women to wear all-covering burqa in public: Decree

Afghanistan’s supreme chief and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the country’s girls to wear the all-covering burqa in public - one of many harshest controls imposed on ladies’s lives because the Taliban seized energy.

“They need to put on a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it's conventional and respectful,” said a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was released by Taliban authorities at a perform in Kabul.

“Those ladies who usually are not too old or younger should cowl their face, besides the eyes, as per sharia directives, in an effort to avoid provocation when meeting males who are not mahram (grownup shut male family members),” the decree stated.

It added that if women had no necessary work outdoors it was “higher they keep at dwelling.”

During their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed similar restrictions on girls.
