Afghanistan’s supreme chief and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the country’s ladies to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of the harshest controls imposed on ladies’s lives because the Taliban seized power.
“They need to put on a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it's traditional and respectful,” said a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was launched by Taliban authorities at a perform in Kabul.
“Those women who are usually not too outdated or younger should cover their face, besides the eyes, as per sharia directives, in an effort to keep away from provocation when meeting males who aren't mahram (adult shut male family members),” the decree mentioned.
It added that if ladies had no essential work outdoors it was “higher they stay at residence.”
Throughout their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed related restrictions on women.
