Days after a minimum of 19 elementary faculty students and two academics were killed in a mass capturing at an elementary faculty in Uvalde, Texas, students at faculties around the nation staged walkouts to protest gun violence.

In Michigan, college students at Oxford High School, where a faculty capturing occurred in November, staged a walkout at 12 p.m. on Thursday. Four students had been killed in the capturing.

"You see news every single day about kids getting shot and folks your age dying and it is just incredibly sad and unbelievable, especially to see like kids youthful and children my age," Janoff informed ABC News. "I cant think about that being me; however it is imaginable as a result of it occurs so usually."

The 17 year-old says her school's administration was in assist of the walkout and she or he hopes the over 200 deliberate demonstrations across the country send a transparent message that students are a "united front."

A walkout could not necessarily change laws, Janoff mentioned, but these actions present "students are nonetheless united in this."

She said that though most students aren't sufficiently old to vote, they still need to see change and are prepared to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"College students do not need to be quiet about it just because they seem to be a child," Janoff said.
