College students stroll out of faculties in protest of gun violence

Days after at least 19 elementary college college students and two lecturers had been killed in a mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, college students at schools across the country staged walkouts to protest gun violence.

In Michigan, students at Oxford Excessive School, where a college capturing occurred in November, staged a walkout at 12 p.m. on Thursday. Four students have been killed within the shooting.

The 17 year-old says her college's administration was in support of the walkout and he or she hopes the over 200 deliberate demonstrations throughout the country send a transparent message that students are a "united entrance."

A walkout may not necessarily change laws, Janoff stated, however these actions show "college students are nonetheless united on this."

She stated that although most college students aren't sufficiently old to vote, they still want to see change and are keen to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"College students do not need to be quiet about it just because they seem to be a child," Janoff mentioned.
