Arlington police said Duff Elementary Faculty was placed on lockdown for a time Thursday after a parent with a concealed weapon had his gun unintentionally go off, hitting the parent within the leg.

ARLINGTON, Texas - Arlington police stated Duff Elementary Faculty was placed on lockdown for a time Thursday after a dad or mum with a concealed weapon had his gun by accident go off, hitting the dad or mum in the leg.

The college had early release and students had been launched at the deliberate time of 12:10 p.m.

In line with police, the father or mother, identified as 55-year-old Anthony White, dropped his gun and by chance shot himself. His damage was not critical.

The college district said White was inside the constructing, near the foyer space, and not in the hallway close to students when the gun went off.

Police and school officials mentioned there was no risk made and the mother or father didn't have "malicious intent."

Arlington Police Chief Al Jones stated after White was launched from the hospital, he was arrested and charged with illegal carrying of a weapon in prohibited locations and discharge of a firearm in sure municipalities.

Rasheed said Thursday was the graduation day for 6th grade college students at Duff Elementary.
