Drunk driver crashes, heads straight to dealership to attempt to promote damaged automobile with missing tire

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Police say they arrested a driver who was 3.5 instances the legal alcohol limit after at the very least 5 people called 911.

Officers say the calls began coming in around 4:40 p.m. Monday.

They are saying witnesses reported seeing a SUV hit the median of the Lloyd Expressway close to the Principal Road exit. They are saying the crash prompted a flat tire and the car to smoke, but the driver saved going.

Different callers say the driver was everywhere in the street and now missing a entrance tire.

They are saying he ultimately stopped at a automotive dealership and appeared “tremendous drunk.”

Workers told police the motive force, 30-year-old Jordon Mattingly, was trying to sell his SUV.

Police say he had swelling and scratches as if he had simply been in a crash.

They are saying Mattingly smelled of alcohol and nearly fell a number of occasions. Officers say he tested .291 on a conveyable breath test.

Police say inside his SUV, they discovered Four Loko cans and a can of White Claw.

Mattingly is dealing with several costs.

He's the son of the supervisor for the Miami Marlins and former professional baseball participant, Don Mattingly.
