Apple has discontinued the iPod, 20 years after it was launched.

The US tech giant stated its iconic music participant has been changed by different gadgets, making the iPod redundant.

Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice-president of worldwide advertising and marketing, mentioned: "Right now, the spirit of iPod lives on.

In October 2001, Steve Jobs debuted the original iPod and it was the first MP3 participant that might hold 1,000 songs and had a 10-hour battery life.
